Tottenham Hotspur have joined the chase for PSG winger Ibrahim Mbaye, with journalist Santi Aouna reporting the North London club are monitoring the 18-year-old ahead of a potential summer move.
A Rapid Rise To The Top
Mbaye’s rise through the ranks has been nothing short of meteoric. In August 2024, aged just 16 years and 205 days, he became the youngest player to ever start a competitive match for PSG, going on to rack up 24 appearances that season.
His star continued to climb at the Africa Cup of Nations, where his switch of allegiance from France to Senegal paid off in spectacular fashion as he helped the Teranga Lions lift the trophy. He then backed that up on the World Cup stage, scoring on his debut against France to become the youngest African player ever to score at the tournament, at 18 years and 142 days.

Numbers That Turn Heads
The stats back up the hype. At the World Cup, Mbaye completed 87.1% of his passes, won 6.39 duels per game, and created 2.90 chances per game — numbers that scream Premier League readiness.
Stiff Competition Looms
Aouna is clear that Spurs’ interest isn’t yet at fever pitch, and Aston Villa are reportedly “very interested” too. With PSG unlikely to demand much more than his £25m valuation, De Zerbi’s rebuild could land itself a serious bargain — if Tottenham move fast enough to beat the chasing pack.
