Manchester United are keeping close tabs on Borussia Dortmund midfielder Felix Nmecha, with Football Insider reporting that Red Devils scouts have been left seriously impressed by the German’s performances.
From Man City’s Academy To BVB Stardom
Nmecha came through Manchester City’s youth ranks but never got his shot under Pep Guardiola. He departed the Etihad as a free agent in 2021, joining VfL Wolfsburg before Dortmund snapped him up a couple of years later.

What started as a rotational role quickly turned into something far more significant. Last campaign, the 25-year-old made 42 appearances across all competitions, contributing five goals and three assists — numbers that caught the eye of Germany boss Julian Nagelsmann, who handed him a World Cup call-up.
Nmecha has repaid that faith on the international stage, helping Die Mannschaft into the knockout rounds after victories over Curaçao and the Ivory Coast, even getting on the scoresheet.
Dortmund Playing Hardball
Don’t expect this one to be straightforward. BVB have slapped a £100m price tag on Nmecha’s head, and with his contract running until 2030, they’re in no rush to sell.
Dortmund view him as a cornerstone of their long-term plans — and it’s easy to see why. Standing at 6ft 3in, Nmecha is a physically dominant yet technically refined box-to-box midfielder who can also sit deeper when required.
Nmecha has the tools to thrive in the Premier League — power, pace, technical quality, and an ever-improving goal contribution. For United, he’d be a statement signing. But prising him away from Dortmund this summer? That’s going to cost every penny of that £100m.
