Liverpool Join Race for Hertha Berlin Talent Kennet Eichhorn

Liverpool are making serious moves in the transfer market, and their latest target is one of German football’s most exciting young talents. The Reds are reportedly in concrete talks to sign Hertha Berlin midfielder Kennet Eichhorn this summer — and he’s just 16 years old.

A Teenager Who’s Already Proven Himself

Don’t let the age fool you. Eichhorn has already made 19 senior appearances for Hertha Berlin, featuring 17 times in Bundesliga 2 this season — starting 14 of those matches. He also featured in both DFB-Pokal games before an ankle injury disrupted his momentum in January.

Standing at 6ft 1in, the defensive midfielder plays well beyond his years, combining an expansive passing range with the composure to dictate a game’s tempo from deep. Hertha captain Fabian Reese has already labelled him an “incredible, exceptional talent” — and comparisons to Toni Kroos are already doing the rounds in Germany.

Liverpool Pushing Hard — With a Twist

According to German transfer expert Florian Plettenberg, Liverpool aren’t just interested — they’re pushing hard to get this deal done. The club is valued at £8–10m and talks have continued in recent days.

Interestingly, Liverpool have reportedly proposed a loan move to Bayer Leverkusen as part of the negotiation package — a smart play to ease Eichhorn into elite football before potentially bringing him to Anfield full-time.

Borussia Dortmund are also circling, so Liverpool will need to move quickly.

If Liverpool land Eichhorn, he’ll join a growing list of exciting young arrivals at the club alongside Talla Ndiaye, Ifeanyi Ndukwe and Samuel Martinez. At £8–10m for a player of this profile, it could be the bargain of the summer.
