Grand Slam winner Li Na announces retirement


Two-time Grand Slam winner, Li Na has announced her retirement from tennis due to recurring knee injuries, she confirmed the news through her official Facebook account.

The 32-year-old won the 2011 French Open – became the first Asian player to win a Grand Slam singles title, and claimed the Australian Open title in January at Melbourne Park.

Li Na, the world number six withdrew from three major tournaments in August, including the U.S. Open, because of a knee injury concerns.
