Andy Murray to face David Goffin for Wimbledon defence

Defending champion Andy Murray will begin his Wimbledon defence against Belgium’s David Goffin in the first round of the tournament.

The 27-year-old Murray, who became the first British male to win Wimbledon champion for 77 years in 2013, will play on Centre Court in a bid to retain his Wimbledon crown at 1pm UK Time on Monday.

The 23-year-old Goffin, who currently ranked 104 in the world, will compete for the first time against Murray.

The Wimbledon draw for Andy Murray looks relatively kind as top seed Rafael Nadal could only be an opponent for him, when Murray reach into the finals.

Meanwhile, the Spaniard Rafael Nadal starts against Slovak’s Martin Klizan on Tuesday while Novak Djokovic will face Kazakhstan’s Andrey Golubev and Roger Federer starts will begin his quest against Italy’s Paolo Lorenzi.
