World Cup 2014: Colombia’s James Rodriguez wins Golden Boot


The Colombian star midfielder James Rodriguez wins the Golden boot award at World Cup 2014 on Sunday night.

The 23-year-old emerging superstar, who has had an impressive summer World Cup campaign in Brazil as he scored six goals in five games to lead his country to the quarter-finals of the tournament.

World champion Germany’s Thomas Mueller was finished second with five goals, while Argentina captain Lionel Messi, Dutch striker Robin van Persie and injured Brazilian star Neymar all managed to score four goals, thus ended up in third place.

Other Awards at World Cup 2014

Germany stopper Manuel Neuer was awarded with the “Golden Gloves” as the tournament’s top goalkeeper.

Four-times world player of the year – Messi won FIFA’s “Golden Ball” award.

French midfielder Paul Pogba was named young player of the tournament, while Colombia bags the Fair Play award.
