Tottenham Hotspur want to sign David De Gea

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly set their sights on a deal for Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea ahead of next season.

According to Fichajes, Spurs are interested in signing the Spaniard as their new goalkeeper for the upcoming season. This move comes as the Lilywhites are urgently seeking a potential replacement for their current goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.

De Gea has been Man United’s number one goalkeeper for several years. Although his form was concerning in the first half of the season, the stopper has since made a comeback and is now playing well for the Red Devils, with 18 clean sheets in 42 appearances this season.

De Gea’s contract situation could pose some challenges for the Mancunian giants. His current contract is set to expire in the summer, with the option to extend it for another 12 months.

Several clubs are aware of the ongoing contract situation and are keen to sign De Gea. Tottenham Hotspur are among the clubs interested in his services. They are looking for a replacement for their 36-year-old Hugo Lloris.

Lloris has been with Spurs for over a decade, but his performances have declined in recent years. Although the Frenchman has more than a year left in his current contract, the North Londoners are already planning to replace him.

Tottenham will face fierce competition from other clubs in Europe, including Bayern Munich, who are also interested in signing the Spain international.
