Manchester United target Barcelona star Xavi


Manchester United are reportedly chasing Barcelona playmaker Xavi following he admits doubt over his future with the Catalan giants, according to reports from The Express.

Xavi, 34, whose current deal is set to expire in 2016, has scored four goals in 47 appearances for the club last term. The Spaniard has already admitted his desperation for the Red Devils new boss Louis van Gaal, and could make a move to the Old Trafford ahead of next season.

The report claims, with the arrival of new Barca manager Luis Enrique has raised some doubt over Xavi’s long-term future at the Camp Nou, despite being loyal to the club his entire career.

That has alerted Premier League giants Manchester United, who are keen to take advantage of the situation and it is believed Van Gaal has been handed a massive summer transfer budget in order to strengthen his squad for the upcoming season and the priority will be for a world-class midfielder.
