Man United ready to launch £84m for Kalidou Koulibaly

Manchester United are ready to pounce for Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly by making a £84m bid, according to Italian media outlet Corriere dello Sport, as quoted by Metro.

The Red Devils are preparing a world record £84m bid for the Senegal international this summer.

However, the report states Napoli would still reject an £84m bid as the Italian giants look to retain Koulibaly’s services.

Partenopei are under no pressure to cash in on their centre-back in the current transfer window.

United struggled defensively throughout the recent campaign under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as they finished the season without silverware following a 4-0 aggregate loss to Barcelona in the Champions League semi-finals.

Manchester United conceded more goals than Wolverhampton Wanderers, Leicester City and Everton in the Premier League last term to underline their defensive issues.
