Man United eye January swoop for Emre Can?

Manchester United have reportedly stepped up their interest in Juventus midfielder Emre Can.

Man United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer currently short of options in the midfield area of the field due to the departures of Marouane Fellaini and Ander Herrera.

Juventus’s Emre Can has only made three substitute appearances in Serie A this season, while the German was also left out of the squad for the group stages of the Champions League after falling down the pecking order.

The 25-year-old midfielder recently admitted that he was not pleased with his current situation in Turin.

According to Calciomercato, Manchester United are considering a swoop for Can at the mid-point of the season as the playmaker is likely to be available for transfer.

The report adds Juve could look to offer both Emre Can and Mario Mandzukic to the Premier League giants as part of a deal for the unsettled Paul Pogba.

United will look to return to winning ways in the Premier League when they host the runaway leaders Liverpool to Old Trafford this Sunday.
