Man United eye Dinamo Zagreb goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic

Manchester United have reportedly “explored” the possibility of signing Dinamo Zagreb goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic as a potential replacement for David de Gea, according to The Sun.

The Spaniard stopper still has not put pen to paper on a new contract at Old Trafford.

De Gea’s contract only has one more year left and it is suggested that a key factor leading to him stalling over signing a new deal is a common clause at United indicating that the 28-year-old would receive a 25% pay decrease should the Red Devils fail to secure Champions League football this season.

United have been looking at other options just in case they lose De Gea next summer, with Dominik Livakovic having impressed scouts as Dinamo Zagreb beat Rosenborg 2-0 in their Champions League playoff round first leg.

The 24-year-old Croatia international has also been on the radar of Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur and would cost somewhere in the region of £15m to 20m.
