Liverpool want Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic

Liverpool have reportedly outlined their intentions to move for Serbian midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic from Lazio.

According to Calciomercatoweb, Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing the 28-year-old midfielder to strengthen their midfield options for the upcoming season. It is speculated that the Reds might offer approximately €50 million for the highly skilled midfielder.

The Merseyside outfit are set to lose several key midfielders, including Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and James Milner, who will be leaving the club as free agents at the end of the season. Therefore, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will be seeking to recruit multiple midfielders during the summer transfer window. Mason Mount and Jude Bellingham are among the players linked with the Reds.

Milinkovic-Savic has been linked with a move to the Premier League for several years, and it remains to be seen if the Serbian international will finally be able to conclude his stint in Italy and join a Premier League team in England this summer.

The addition of Milinkovic-Savic would greatly enhance Liverpool’s midfield, as the 28-year-old has established himself as one of the most talented midfielders in Serie A in recent years. With his ability to score goals, provide impetus, and provide defensive cover, the Serbian would be an ideal fit for Jurgen Klopp’s system.

Liverpool are reportedly willing to offer €50 million for Milinkovic-Savic, who has a contract with the Italian club until 2024.

It remains to be seen whether Liverpool will be able to agree on a fee with Lazio and fend off any other potential suitors for Milinkovic-Savic’s signature in what could be a highly contested transfer market this summer.
