Chelsea have reportedly expressed an interest in making an audacious move for Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong, who is also on the radar of Manchester United.
The 25-year-old has been a top target for the Red Devils, but the Mancunian giants have yet to finalise his transfer.
A fee of around €65m has been agreed upon, but both parties are still negotiating add-ons in the region of €20m.
In the middle of this transfer saga, the Blues have entered the race to land the Netherlands international, and it is claimed that they are very interested.
The report goes on to claim that there could be a possible swap deal with Marcos Alonso and Cesar Azpilicueta moving the other way.
Chelsea may also have the advantage over Man United, as Thomas Tuchel’s side qualified for Champions League next season.
