Chelsea have stepped up their interest in Bayer Leverkusen playmaker Kai Havertz.
The 21-year-old has been heavily linked with a move away to a bigger European club for some time.
Despite interest from Manchester United and Bayern Munich, the Blues are currently regarded as the frontrunners to get a deal over the line in the upcoming transfer window.
According to The Telegraph, Chelsea officials will look to make progress in negotiations with their Leverkusen counterparts after the German Cup final on Sunday.
The report adds that the west London outfit are prepared to battle it out with the Bavarians in the race for the German international who is valued in the region of £90m.
Havertz has scored 12 goals and registered six assists in 30 German top flight this season.
