Chelsea lining up move for Nelson Semedo

Chelsea have reportedly “explored” the possibility of signing Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Nelson Semedo, who is set to leave Molineux in the summer.

According to Fichajes, Wolves are on the verge of losing the 28-year-old defender, who appears to have no shortage of suitors.

Atletico Madrid and Juventus are other clubs keeping close tabs on the player’s situation.

The Portuguese defender joined Wolves in the summer of 2020. Since arriving in England, the full-back has become a key figure for the West Midlands outfit, notably racking up 63 appearances.

Semedo has made a total of almost 150 appearances in the English and Spanish top flight.

Chelsea are aware of the interest from Atletico Madrid. The La Liga giants can offer him more game-time, following the departure of Kieran Trippier in January.
