Report: Bayern Munich want Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Eric Dier

The German newspaper BILD reports that Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Eric Dier is a prime summer target for Bayern Munich.

The 22-year-old has been scouted by the Bavarians in recent weeks, and they were hugely impressed with his performance during a friendly game between England and Germany.

Dier scored the winner in the 3-2 friendly win, with successfully shutting down Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil.

The England international is a versatile player, who can play in both midfield and defence, and would replace the Spaniard Xabi Alonso at Allianz Arena.

The Bundesliga champions are set to lose their head coach Pep Guardiola at the end of this current season, with the former Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti already announced as Guardiola’s replacement.

Spurs however have Dier tied down until 2020, with the England star is a crucial member of Mauricio Pochettino’s squad, and Champions League football to play at the club next season, it is hard to see him making a move away from the north London outfit.
