AS Roma close in on Shkodran Mustafi?

AS Roma have reportedly interested in the season-long loan signing of Shkodran Mustafi from Arsenal.

Despite being a first-team regular at the Emirates Stadium since 2016, the centre-back does not fit in the plans of manager Unai Emery.

While Mustafi would prefer to fight for his place at north London, the Gunners are attempting to offload the Germany international to a foreign club before the end of the summer transfer window.

According to Forza Roma, Paulo Fonseca’s side have indicated that they are interested in completing a loan deal with the option to buy permanent at the end of the season.

The report claims that the north Londoners would be looking to receive £23m next summer, around £12m less than the Premier League outfit paid Valencia three years ago.

Giallorossi have allegedly made contact with the Gunners regarding the 27-year-old defender having opted against signing Liverpool’s Dejan Lovren.
