Arsenal interested in signing West Ham United starlet Reece Oxford

Arsenal are lining up a swoop for West Ham United defender Reece Oxford, according to The Daily Mirror.

The Gunners are keen on a move to sign the Englishman as the January transfer window draws nearer.

Both Arsenal and Everton are allegedly interested in a move to sign the 20-year-old centre-back from the east Londoners.

The report claims that Arsenal head-coach Unai Emery is “desperate” to strengthen his options at the defence ahead of the second half of the season.

The Hammers may be willing to sell Oxford after manager Manuel Pellegrini hinted that he may not have a future at the club.

Oxford has not made a senior appearance for West Ham so far this season.

Meanwhile, the north Londoners are likely to be linked with a number of players in the coming days as the club ponder the chance to bolster their options at the back.

Arsenal will return to Premier League action on Saturday when they take on Liverpool at Anfield.
