Arsenal enter race to sign Cody Gakpo?

Liverpool and Manchester City reportedly face fresh competition from Arsenal for the signing of PSV Eindhoven forward Cody Gakpo.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is intent on signing a new striker and a centre-midfielder before the end of January.

Gakpo has been in impressive form for the Dutch giants this term, contributing 10 goals and 11 assists in 28 appearances across all competitions.

According to Foot Mercato, Arsenal have added the Netherlands national to their shortlist and view him as a potential replacement for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The report adds that Bayern Munich are no longer interested in the frontman, while Marseille expressed their desire to recruit the player last summer.

Gakpo is contracted to PSV until June 2025.
