Joel Embiid ruled out for at least 4-6 months

Top NBA draft prospect, Kansas center Joel Embiid is expected to be sidelined for up to six months in order to recover from his foot surgery, according to reports from Yahoo Sports.

His latest injury was picked-up during a physical with the Cleveland Cavaliers, the 20-year-old Cameroonian had two screws plugged into his foot Friday morning, preventing him from next week’s Draft, who also missed the last six games of last season with a back injury.

Two screws were inserted into the navicular bone in Joel Embiid’s right foot,” Dr. Richard Ferkel said. “The surgery went very well and I’m confident that after appropriate healing he will be able to return to NBA Basketball. Joel tolerated the surgery without difficulty and will begin his rehabilitation in the near future.

The Kansas star averaged 11.2 points, 8.1 rebounds and 2.6 blocks last season.
