Arsenal leading race to sign Viktor Gyokeres

Arsenal are in pole position to land red-hot Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres this summer, edging out rivals Manchester United in what could be one of the window’s most exciting attacking transfers.

Gunners Favourite to Land Swedish Goal Machine

According to Fichajes, Arsenal are currently best placed to snap up Gyokeres, who has enjoyed a sensational season with Portuguese champions Sporting CP. The 26-year-old Swedish international has racked up an astonishing 66 goal contributions across all competitions, cementing himself as one of Europe’s most prolific forwards.

Gyokeres is expected to make a high-profile move once the domestic season wraps up, with the Taca de Portugal Final against Benfica likely to be his last outing for Sporting.

Man United in the Mix – But Facing an Uphill Battle

Manchester United remain keen admirers of the former Coventry City man, with manager-in-waiting Ruben Amorim reportedly playing a key role in United’s interest due to his previous work with the striker. However, the Red Devils’ pursuit may hinge on Champions League qualification—something only achievable if they lift the Europa League trophy.

Arsenal, on the other hand, are seen as front-runners, thanks in part to Sporting’s willingness to do business with the North London club. Sporting’s sporting director Andrea Berta is said to be leading negotiations on behalf of the Gunners.

Price Tag Set – But Gunners Could Seal a Smart Deal

Sporting CP are open to a sale and are hoping for a bidding war that drives Gyokeres’ price towards the €80 million mark. Although his release clause stands at €100 million, reports suggest a bid of around €65 million could be enough—especially if Arsenal move swiftly to secure the player’s commitment.

As the transfer window heats up, it’s Arsenal who currently hold the cards. With the right offer and Champions League football on the table, Viktor Gyokeres may soon be calling the Emirates home.
