New York Yankees sign Brian Roberts and Matt Thornton

The New York Yankees have agreed to terms with second baseman Brian Roberts on a one-year deal in $2m and signed a two-year deal with pitcher Matt Thornton in $7m, according to The Washington Times.

The 36-year-old Roberts, who made his MLB debut in 2001 with the Baltimore Orioles. Since 2009 he picked up the injury and available as a free agent and he has not played a full season till then. Although, he missed the training session following with his pain on his back, and sever strained an abdominal muscle. read more
