The 34-year-old right-handed batsman, who has previous county experience at Somerset, Essex and Glamorgan but now he has penned a two-year deal with the Red Rose with an option to extend to a third year as a non-overseas player, subject to receiving official clearance.
South Africa opening batsman Alviro Petersen has announced his retirement from Test cricket following the Test series against the West Indies.
The 34-year-old has also revealed that he will retire from international cricket with effect from April 1, 2015.
South African batsman Jacques Rudolph has been named Glamorgan’s skipper for the 2015 season in all forms of cricket, replacing Mark Wallace, who captained the County Championship three years at the helm and Jim Allenby, who captained the T20 side.
Hampshire have completed the re-signing of South African leg-spinner Imran Tahir on a short-term contract, his previous stints with the county club was in 2008 and 2011.
The 35-year-old leg spinner has made 77 appearances for the club previously and will be available for the final two games against Kent and Glamorgan in mid-September, reports BBC.
