Justin Rose prepares for another trophy

British golfer Justin Rose insisted that he is happy with his strong recent form as he prepares to US Open title defence at Pinehurst, starting on 12 June.

Rose, 33, won his first major title in the US Open at Merion Golf Club last year, became the first Briton in 43 years to win the tournament since Nick Faldo in 1996.

Rose has been in excellent form, secured fifth at the Wells Fargo Championship, followed by fourth at the Players Championship last week.

“I’m trending in the right direction. It’s all about picking up a trophy now,” Rose told BBC Sport.

“I’ve not really been able to recreate that opportunity but hopefully Pinehurst will do that for me.”

The South African born golfer admits he is desperate for another trophy this month and the Ryder Cup is also on his priority list.
