Michael Clarke signs with Melbourne Stars as a captain

Australian Test captain Michael Clarke has unveiled as the Melbourne Stars’s next skipper on Friday morning at the MCG.

Clarke, who has not played a T20 game since the 2012 IPL – will ready to make his Big Bash League debut next summer after signing a deal for the next two years.

The 34-year-old, who took the retirement from T20 formats in 2011 – has scored 737 runs with an average of 21.05 in 46 Twenty20 internationals.

The right hander will wear number 23, the same number as his friend Shane Warne wore during his stint with the BBL side.

Great to be on board with the Melbourne Stars. Looking forward to a big year. @starsbbl A photo posted by Michael Clarke (@michaelclarkeofficial) on
